"I bought fresh figs at the farmer's market and the grower shared this simple and delicious fig preparation with me. We had it for a Father's Day dinner appetizer and it is fantastic!"

  1. Great as written warm, but also very good non-cooked (raw). It is such a versatile concept, I also tried them like other reviewers 1) with prosciutto (instead of bacon) broiled and 2) with a sweetened balsamic reduction. All variations were super!

  2. Delicious and simple. Whole foods had fresh, organic figs on sale, blue cheese on sale and French bread. It was very simple to make and I would make this again. I grilled the fig pieces until they had sear marks on them which really gave them a nice flavor. Everything tasted very nice together and the flavor was deep. Thanks for the recipe.

  3. What an explosion of taste..!!! I followed the recipe almost exept for the balsamic vinigar but just because l didnt have any at the moment...instead l used sherry vinigar. Also added a dash of white peper....ohhh sooo beautifull they looked!! I even ran upstairs to get the camera and my husband said he wanted more for supper also. sorry l have to go now because lm off to the supper market to get more ingredients for another batch! This deserves more then five stars dont let the ingredients scare you off...ps supper easy and very elegante too...keep up the good work!

  4. My take on this to use up very ripe figs is to push the cheese into the fig halves. Wrap with 1/2 slice microwave cooked bacon, around the side not over the top hold with toothpick. Drizzle with a mix of honey and balsamic vinegar. Thank you "chef vally UK". Broil or grill until the cheese is melted. Yum!

  5. Even better with a mix of equal parts of honey and balsamic vinegar!
